Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Medicine) together with the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases seek to fill positions for:
13 PhD Candidates in Neurobiology of Ageing

The Research Training Group 2413 SynAGE has been established in 2019 to investigate mechanisms of healthy synaptic ageing and is currently in its second funding period. In SynAGE, researchers at different levels of their career (MD, PhD candidates, postdocs, junior and senior PIs) work together in interdisciplinary projects to unravel fundamental mechanisms that maintain synaptic and circuit functions in the ageing brain. SynAGE provides state of the art training in translational research using molecular, cellular and systems as well as cognitive neurobiology.
Requirements profile:
- You have a university degree (MSc or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, Psychology or related disciplines
- You have enthusiasm and dedication for basic and translational research
- You have a strong motivation to learn new methodologies and the ability to independently plan, conduct and analyze experiments
- You are a creative and active team player, who is fluent in English
