About Us: Dr. Maria Trojanowska's laboratory at the Arthritis and Autoimmune Diseases Center, Boston University Chobanian and Avidisian School of Medicine, is seeking qualified postdoctoral candidates to join our dynamic team. Our current investigations focus on the pathogenesis of scleroderma (SSc), an autoimmune disease characterized by vascular abnormalities and prominent fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. We employ molecular and cellular approaches, along with various experimental models, to elucidate the mechanisms responsible for uncontrolled extracellular matrix deposition and vessel degeneration in scleroderma.

Position Requirements:

  • A PhD in biological sciences or a directly related field. Experience in handling small rodents, sterile tissue culture techniques, biochemical and molecular biology techniques, imaging methodology, and statistical analysis. Prior experience working with endothelial or lymphatic cells and mouse models of lymphangiogenesis is highly desirable. Highly motivated candidates with the ability to think and work independently. Fluent in written and spoken English language. Prior published manuscripts, including a first author publication.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will:

  • Prepare manuscripts for publication and contribute to the preparation of grant applications. Adopt established procedures for novel applications and develop new experimental approaches. Provide instructions in these techniques to students and other laboratory personnel.
